Where Am I?

I'm Back!!!

And I've learned several swell things over the summer that I'm excited to share!

Unfortunately, this isn't the post to begin, as I am just taking a momentary break from the eye numbing work of spreadsheets and proofreading/editing.

That said, we have had a most excellent summer filled with sailing, flying peanuts and even several new recipes. Once caught, the flying peanuts went into a delicious stew that I'm looking forward to sharing. The only bummer about the peanuts? I stopped taking pictures when things started getting crazy. We were sailing, and then suddenly we were sailing hard and I didn't have much warning. In my scramble to secure ingredients, I abandoned the camera.

I wish I hadn't.

I lost a chance to document what really goes on in a galley at times... and the insane mess surrounding a serenely gimbaled stove.

Next time!

And what is next up? A simply delicious lentil dish...

  1. Would you consider writing about living simply on a sailboat?

  2. Hmmmmm... I wouldn't mind doing that. Just this morning I considered a recipe's instructions to "zap in a microwave." More and more there seems to be an assumption that everyone has certain appliances, or even that one needs such appliances.

Now don't get me wrong. I am quite dreamy about the day we get an oven, and the world of opportunities that will bring... but in the meantime I'll keep working to adapt oven recipes to the stove top. Or just finding yummy stove top ones.

I got a little off track... are there certain things you are interested in? Topics to address? Or just daily life stuff? Let me know :-)

  3. Daily life stuff; I plan on down sizing soon from home too sailboat. How did you down size and adapt? Keep the great recipes and stories coming.

  4. Hi Bess: Welcome back! I have missed you too. How about an up to date photo of the four year old! Maybe one on land on horseback? Love you! Chuckanutrose.

  5. Thanks for the welcome back!

At Liv4outdoors... I just spent about two hours writing up my first response to your question, only to have blogger freeze on me, and then delete everything.... rrgh.

I cannot redo now... but i will get it out soon. Sigh.

Please be respectful and polite to everyone, so that I can keep the comment submissions open to all. Thanks!!
